Frøya Basket, Who we are
Basketball has been played in Frøya since 1986, but Frøya Basket as we know it today was officially founded in 2002. We are based at Melkeplassen in our very own flagship facility, Frøya Arena. In the 2024/25 season, we had 19 teams registered in league competition. In addition, we have several training groups that do not participate in league play but still enjoy basketball and have a lot of fun during practice.
Frøya Basket is both a grassroots and elite club. Our BLNO (Norwegian top league) team operates independently through a dedicated committee appointed by the club’s board. It is important to Frøya Basket that our efforts in the BLNO benefit the entire club. Many of our coaches are connected to and funded by the elite team.

Our goal is to offer something for everyone, and currently, we provide the following programs:
Nanobasket for children aged 3–6
EasyBasket for children aged 6–12
Age-specific teams for youth aged 13–19
Senior teams for women and men across most divisions
We take responsibility for our local community and run several projects that benefit children and youth in Laksevåg. You can read more about these under the "Social responsibility" section.
